Pennies, Nickels and Dimes…
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009Yes…the hour is late and tomorrow begins a journey to Rwanda and Zimbabwe. We are anticipating an incredible trip full of opportunities to help people – excited to be living out our passion! We covet your prayers while we are gone and encourage you to look for updates here on the website.
Just a little story of encouragement. Imagine a room full of three to five year old children wiggling with anticipation of hearing Mr. Bruce and Miss Camella tell their stories of Africa. This was what we experienced last Wednesday evening. The “Rainbows” at our home church have been collecting their offerings to help us buy shoes for the orphans. With excitement they bring their pennies, nickels & dimes to place in the shoebox every Wednesday. After our time with the Rainbows (which was priceless), I thought of their innocence and “un-jaded” hearts. They are not embarrassed to bring pennies nor do they feel it is “not enough.” Because they are giving with expectation that when everyone gives – pennies, nickels and dimes will buy shoes.
Next time you see a need – remember that pennies, nickels and dimes multiply when everyone is doing something!
Blessings,
Bruce & Camella
